For the 5th year running, Jurlique Australia supports AIME mentoring. This Australian charity provides Indigenous students with a proven mentoring program to support them through high school to university, employment or further education at the same rate as all Australian students.
Tell me about a girl who really Bloomed as a result of the AIME program. Danisha Lui came to us in Year 10. She’s a very driven girl, but she had a lot going on with her family. She was estranged from her mum, and she was struggling.
What are some of the things you did within the AIME program? They mentor you for each subject. Whenever you need help, they come out and check your assignments, check that your grades are up where you want them to be. And they email you whenever you like, 24/7. They’re always there with you; that’s the educational side. When you go to the actual sessions at the university, that was the discussions, getting you to open up, getting you out of your comfort zone.
